Bia Moremi Named One of the Global Top 100 Most Influential People of African Descent in Tourism by MIPAD

A historic milestone for Brafrika and the global strengthening of Black-owned and Afrocentric tourism.

May 25th – Global Africa Day – has always been a date of celebration, pride, and reflection. But in 2026, this date took on an even more special meaning for the entire Brafrika family. It is with immense joy and pride that we share that our founder, Bia Moremi, has been officially named one of the Global Top 100 Most Influential People of African Descent in Travel, Tourism, and Hospitality (Class of 2026) by MIPAD.

The recognition, announced in partnership with The Pyne Hospitality Company, honors global leaders shaping the future of tourism, aviation, hospitality, and cultural storytelling across Africa and the global diaspora.

Standing alongside government ministers (such as the Ministers of Tourism of Jamaica, South Africa, and Morocco) and CEOs of major global corporations, Bia Moremi proudly represents Brazil and the power of tourism that connects history, ancestry, and new futures.

Beyond Recognition: A Platform for Impact

For MIPAD, a global civil society initiative supporting the United Nations International Decade for People of African Descent, this recognition goes far beyond an award.

As Kamil Olufowobi, Founder & Chairman of MIPAD, highlighted:

"Beyond recognition, this initiative will serve as a strategic coordination platform — identifying and convening the leaders shaping global travel flows, tourism investment, and hospitality infrastructure across Africa and the diaspora... The goal is not only to celebrate influence — but to activate it."

Amaka Amatokwu-Ndekwu, Founder & CEO of The Pyne Hospitality Company, also reinforced the very mission we live by every day at Brafrika:

"Tourism is one of the most powerful tools for reshaping narratives, building economic bridges, and reconnecting the global African diaspora to culture, heritage, and opportunity."

Brafrika’s Commitment Moves Forward

Seeing Bia Moremi (Brafrika Viagens / Brafrika Pro — Brazil) on this official list, released directly from New York, is validation that the tourism we believe in — driven by economic diplomacy, cultural exchange, and historical reclamation — is transforming the global market.

This honor fuels our passion to keep creating authentic experiences, bridging the gap between Brazil, the African continent, and its diaspora, and showing that our culture and stories deserve the world's highest stages.

Thank you to every client, partner, and supporter who walks this path with us. This achievement belongs to all of us! 🌍✨
